Gong Sound Healing
Special guest Ruth Lerew joins us this month with a Gong Bath...
Sunday 17th November 2019
11am - 2pm
A day retreat is three hours of deeply relaxing yoga, sound healing and mediation practices, allowing you to let go of your outer world and connect with your true inner calm. Taking place in the peaceful village of Collaton St Mary, it boasts a truly relaxing retreat from your every day life.
Sometimes we need a yang yoga practice, that raises our energy, boosts our immunity and exercises our muscles, but at other times, we need a more passive and restorative yin practice that helps to slow us down and release tension in the deeper connective tissue of the body.
As we age, unless we continue to move our body, we lose mobility in our joints, our bones begin to degenerate becoming weaker and our fascia contracts, which makes us tighter and restricts our ability to move freely. Restrictions are not only caused by ageing, but by unexpressed emotional traumas, which have lodged themselves in our tissues as energetic blocks.
Yin Yoga can help us to regain that movement and stimulate the flow of energy through our bodies again. It works on our deepest connective-tissue including the bones, joints, cartilage, ligaments and deep fascial networks in the body, helping to realign the body and ease any aches or pains.
This month we also have a special guest; Ruth Lerew who will be treating us to a deeply healing Gong Bath. Ruth writes:
"A gong/sound bath is an opportunity for you to lie comfortably on a mat with your eyes closed with a cushion and blanket whilst someone plays the gong and other instruments bringing a sense of deep relaxation as the sounds wash over you. The resonance and meditative effect of gongs, singing bowls, tuning forks and/or other instruments that are rich in “harmonic frequencies” help bring a sense of calm and your brain waves slow down thus allowing you to reach a meditative state away from the hustle and bustle of the world and your own mind."
