Spring Clean Your Chakras
Spring is in the air, so let's deep clean our bodies and minds...
Sunday 8th March 2020
10am - 1pm
Marldon Village Hall
A day retreat is three hours of yoga, sound healing and mediation practices, allowing you to let go of your outer world and connect with your true inner calm.
Chakras are wheels of energy in the subtle body, which are positioned along the spine and are connected to different glands and organs in the body. These wheels determine the state of our health and well-being as they mediate the flow of energy through the body. If energy cannot flow freely through us, the body and mind cannot function properly, much like cogs in a machine; if they stop spinning, the machine will stop working.
Chakras become blocked by physical or emotional trauma, If we don't address these traumas, we can close down emotionally and experience ailments in the body, which are associated to the very chakras that are blocked. On a physical level, we all know that when we have an injury it's important to keep it moving otherwise it will atrophy. The dictionary's definition is: 'waste away or become vestigial during evolution. Vestigial: forming a very small remnant of something that was once greater or more noticeable' Basically, we lose connection to the flow of life and become a lesser version of ourselves, which makes life a struggle. But when energy can flow freely through us, we connect to a higher source of power and become aligned with our true selves, which makes life effortless.
In Kundalini yoga we use breath, movement and mantra to free-up blocked energy in the chakras, which result in that yogic buzz...the wonderful blissful feeling of peace we experience at the end of class. This amazing feeling is actually our natural state of being and how we could potentially feel all time.
So come and join us for a day of loving kindness towards yourself, and find out which of your chakras are blocked and what practices you can do to feel your true self again.
